GU means ignorance: that which obscures Truth. RU means: that which removes. The guru is the agent by which ignorance is removed so that the Truth can be revealed.
The quest for identity is one’s ultimate life’s quest. Knowingly or unknowingly, we all hold a desire to know ourselves, to figure out and to discover who we are. It is the Truth that we all long for and that great Truth alone, is the source of Peace and Bliss.
When we embark on a spiritual quest, typically the search starts from a place of profound discontent and a feeling that life may extend beyond the basic power drives: money, sex and fame. Fueled by a certain innate knowledge that we are more than what meets the eye, the rest of the journey becomes about looking for that something “more”
Through a gradual awakening, we start to perceive sex, money, fame, food, possessions as less important or interesting, we begin to realize that we are more than our body and mind trapped in a skin-encapsulated personality. We are able to perceive life as compassion, wisdom, bliss and peace and we welcome anyone and anything willing to show us just that.
