christmas detox

THURSDAY DECEMBER 25 / 6:00 PM > 8:00 PM / JIVAMUKTI TEACHER CAROL ISSA – PARIS / Register union2yoga@hotmail.com

On Christmas day, let’s take a small break from city excitement and excess food, to find our center once again.

Twisting asanas are amazingly beneficial to ignite the fire of manipura chakra, the energy hub related to digestion, our center, our personal and will power. Digestion is not just about food, it is also about life’s energy and the way we assimilate it. To digest properly means knowing how to receive energy from the outside world, and transforming it into energy we can use for our selves.

Enjoy the detoxifying, rejuvenating and dynamic effect of these postures, designed to cleanse both the physical body (internal organs and spine), as well as the mental and emotional body.
Starting with some simple twisting principles, we will move through a vigorous Jivamukti Yoga sequence that will twist our bodies in many ways – standing, seated, reclining, and inverted. We will end the sequence smoothly with a few restorative-twisting postures.

This Jivamukti Yoga class is for all levels (including asana, breath consciousness, chanting and meditation).

CAROL ISSAnataraja_bey is the first certified Jivamukti teacher trained in Paris. After completing the extensive one month training at the Jivamukti school in NYC with Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York, she took the 800 hours advanced certification program. Carol is also a certified teacher in Kundalini Yoga in the lineage of Yogi Bhajan. After 3 intense years, now she helps at the ashram for the mentoring of new teachers. She was born and lived in Paris for almost all her life, she spent 6 years in Lebanon in 1996. She has a master in Communication Arts and graduated from La Sorbone in Philosophy (focus on philosophy of religions, mystic and spirituality). Yoga came to her life as a natural consequence of the personal research she was working on through Art, Philosophy, Psychology, dance, music, martial arts… Now she uses all the disciplines she has practiced in her teaching of Yoga. Her classes are physically challenging, flowing into creative sequences and mentally and emotionally uplifting. She’s known for her open heart, sincerity and humor. New York Times : « One of my favorite classes is an energetic session with an infectiously joyful teacher named Carol. She leads the class in French — “Inspirez … expirez!” — but who, inevitably, trained in New York, cradle of Jivamukti. Yoga in France, at least the yoga I’ve found, is inescapably American. »
