MoM is a workshop that will give you a crash course in adopting a different perspective on life. It is adapted from the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, which is the most extensively studied mindfulness intervention in healthcare with proven benefits for hypertension, heart disease, weight loss, chronic pain, migraines, and mental health disorders including depression, anxiety and insomnia.
You will learn about the science behind mindfulness, access self-reflective exercises, and be introduced to commercial biofeedback technology. This two part workshop will focus on the science and philosophy of mindfulness, and overcoming fear and working with difficult situations, aiming to empower you with tools for a better quality of living.
Attendance to both is recommended but optional. The morning and afternoon sessions are related but can be attended separately.
HANI CHAABO MD BIO (Hini Ch)
Hani is a licensed Reiki level II and Quantum Touch practitioner, a Family Medicine physician and devoted yogi, with training and experience in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and cognitive and positive psychology. He believes in participatory medicine and mind-body treatment approaches that allow the intrinsic ability of the body to heal and re-attain wholeness, in any given situation. He teaches mindfulness and provides clinical stress reduction and weight loss counseling.
