Dear Lebanon Yoga Community,
I have been dreaming of coming back to my hometown to teach for many years now. We left Lebanon when I was 3 years old, but my heart and my blood is deeply connected this community. I am eager to share my work with yoga, stress management and trauma with all of you. In addition to being a yoga teacher, I am a trauma therapist in private practice in California. I am passionate about helping people heal their traumas so that they can thrive. My work has been fueled by my roots in Lebanon, and I want to give back and share whatever I can to support and uplift you all. I hope you can join me for some yoga, community and healing.
Sincerely,
Hala

Friday June 27 / 6:30 pm > 8:30 pm / VINYASA FOR INSPIRED AWAKENING
Self-knowledge leads to compassion, which is the root of transformation and authentic living. True freedom is thefreedom to love and be loved, to be spontaneous, generous, and inspired. When we release the negative thought patterns and behaviors that prevent us from embodying joy and fully loving ourselves, a wellspring of energy becomes available to us for healing, growth, and transformation both personally and globally.

Yoga asanas are valuable tools that can bring to the surface unhealthy (and healthy) thought patterns, behaviors, and beliefs that we carry in our body. The workshop will include introspective exercises, meditation, and a brief discussion followed by a creative vinyasa flow asana practice that includes music, dance, and spontaneous movement.

Participants should have at one year of yoga experience and a basic knowledge of yoga postures.of interest to participants
can also pave the way to better discussions.

Saturday June 28 / 10:00 am > 1:00 pm / YOGA FOR HEALING TRAUMA * Lecture and Practice

Understanding the physiology of how trauma (or any unresolved stressful event) is stored in the body can be a significant part of a healing yoga practice. In this workshop Hala will talk about what we mean when we talk about the mind/body connection on a physiological level. (The mind is IN the body!). This will be followed by a yoga class where participants practice some very simple tools that can help us unwind from our traumatic patterns. All levels.

Saturday June 28 / 3:00 pm > 5:00 pm / JOY AND PAIN: YOGA AND YOUR EMOTIONS

Emotions are “energy In motion.” Unexpressed or unprocessed emotions, however, become blocks in our energetic and physical structure. These blocks can manifest as physical symptoms such as tight muscles and joints, lack of energy, over-activity, and even illnesses such at fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, anxiety disorders, digestive disorders, headaches, and depression.
In this workshop we will explore how to work with unexpressed emotion in our yoga practice. We will learn specific techniques the process incomplete emotions attached to our past and how to find more emotional balance in our day to day life so that emotions move through us rather than getting us caught in old patterns that keep us stuck.
